Dixon’s roadways connect people to their work, school, and local parks and businesses every day. The City of Dixon is developing a Local Roadway Safety Plan (LRSP) to guide future street improvements and make everyday trips safer and more comfortable for everyone.
What is an LRSP?
An LRSP is a safety-focused plan that helps cities evaluate how people currently travel, understand where and why crashes happen, and recommend projects, policies, and programs to help reduce serious injuries and fatalities.
The LRSP is not a construction project or a traffic enforcement program, but rather a roadmap that helps the City apply for future funding and implement high-priority safety projects.
Why This Plan Matters
Community needs and safety priorities change over time. The LRSP will help the City better understand how people are currently moving, and where people’s safety concerns are focused. The LRSP process will uncover these priority locations by analyzing crash data and gathering detailed feedback from the Dixon community.
How to Get Involved
The LRSP goes beyond crash data and directly involves community voices in the conversation. We want to know:
Are there any areas that make you feel unsafe? Are there locations where walking and biking paths should be improved? Are there areas you avoid because you feel unsafe?
Visit the interactive online map to add your feedback and safety concerns!
