Electric Vehicle Charging Types
Level 1 Charging: Adds approximately 2–5 miles of range per hour, and can take 1–2 days to fully charge. Overnight charging can add 30-40 miles of range.
Level 2 Charging: Adds approximately 15–30 miles of range per hour of charging, depending on the charger's power output. A Level 2 charger can fully charge a typical EV battery overnight.
DC Fast Charging: Adds 60–250 miles of range per hour, depending on the vehicle and charger. A DC Fast Charger can typically charge a battery to 80% in about 20–30 minutes.
Tesla Supercharger: Adds up to 200 miles of driving range in approximately 15 minutes. The exact time and range added can vary slightly by model, but it's generally much faster than other charging networks.
